A technical note on our models and previous versions of Trainz
In-game visual quality on TRS22 & Plus is unparalleled in previous versions

Even though our models are intended to be used with N3V Trainz versions TRS22 and Plus and superior and no guarantee is given of working in previous versions, we don’t include any trainz-build tag for you being able to install them in those previous versions. Contact us if you encounter something faulty and we’ll try to assist you at fixing it.

Yes, we know that the latest versions show a warning about the point of “This asset uses an obsolete trainz-build number. Trainz-build numbers below 3.5 are no longer supported.” but we don’t care about it because we wish you to try using them in previous versions lower than 3.5 (TRS2012). What’s more, we don’t even include the tag trainz-build in the config.txt so that our products behaviour follows this Trainz Creation policy:

trainz-build

type: floating point number (must exactly match a released Trainz version number.)

desc: The file format version to which this asset is built. This number should generally be set to the trainz version number of the Trainz installation on which the asset is being created and tested. Some asset kinds are parsed significantly differently depending on their trainz-build version tag.

NOTE: The trainz-build tag is compulsory. If not specified or if left blank, Trainz will make a primitive attempt to guess at a legacy Trainz version based on the contents of the config.txt file.

We do think that TRS22 and Plus is the present and future of Trainz, so we intend to shape up our New Era products for those versions but not forgetting to grant assistance to non-TRS22 & Plus users.
